PGED Fast Track Kicks Off! Friday 11 July 2008
Advance CPD's exclusive PGED Fast Track commenced on July 7th. The intensive 12 week course is designed to 'fast-track' qualifying law graduates to Membership of ILEX. It is a direct alternative to the LPC and will enable successful participants to become potential fee-earning members of law teams within just a few months.
The ILEX route to becoming a fully qualified lawyer is becoming more and more desirable as recent changes in legislation has swept away the last remaining barriers between legal executives and solicitors. 'The Legal Services Act 2007 will allow legal executives to become partners in law firms and this removes the last major hurdle in legal executives achieving parity with solicitors' said Principal, Adrian Mason. 'The Tribunal, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 will also allow legal executives to apply for judicial positions' he added.

Some Members of the Class of 2008
Members and Fellows of ILEX can now undertake a six day advocacy rights programme in either criminal, civil or family practice which will allow themselves to be called Legal Executive Advocates giving them identical rights of audience with their solicitor counterparts in their chosen field.
Legal Executives are set to become the new 'up and coming' players in a changing world of legal services. 'By undertaking the PGED Fast Track, our students are embracing this exciting opportunity' said Adrian.
The PGED Fast Track is available to students with qualifying law degrees achieved within the last 7 years and tuition costs are a fraction of the cost of the LPC. As the programme is only 12 weeks in length, participants also benefit from vastly reduced accommodation costs too.
