Adrian Mason

Principal

Law is my second career. I gained a law degree in the 1990s at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth but before that I worked as a senior manager in industry for many years working firstly in the insurance sector then in the computer software and music industries. I also acted as a consultant for international businesses. I undertook my lecturers’ training in 1999/2000 and have subsequently taken a MA in Education (Leadership & Management) programme.

Since 1999 I worked in the FE sector teaching and subsequently managing on the ILEX programme. I developed the Post Graduate Entry Diploma, a unique programme of study allowing qualifying law graduates the opportunity to become Members of the Institute of Legal Executives as a direct alternative to the costly LPC.

I left the FE sector to take up my appointment as Principal of Advance CPD to develop professional courses for the people of Shropshire and surrounding areas and to attract much needed law graduates.

I am a Chief Examiner for ILEX and have been fortunate enough to have been invited on to the Institute's curriculum development team and also a long time examiner for the WJEC. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. I have had a number of articles published by National newspapers and legal journals.

As for hobbies, well I am a keen golfer when I can get the time, cycle, love to travel and can think of nothing better than walking the mountains of North Wales. I also have the joy and (often) pain of being a supporter of Everton Football Club!
